CRSCM is dedicated to raising awareness and lowering financial barriers of access to cord blood stem cells through advocacy efforts with the Federal Government.
Specifically, CRSCM believes that federal legislation is needed to educate expectant women about cord blood banking and to allow families to use tax-free dollars to make cord blood banking more affordable. The coalition has currently endorsed two bills in the U.S. House of Representatives to this end including the "Family Cord Blood Banking Act" authored by Representative Ron Kind (D-WI) and Representative Wally Herger (R-CA) and the "Cord Blood Education and Awareness Act " which is sponsored by Representative Jackie Speier (D-CA).
