The Coalition for Regenerative Stem Cell Medicine (CRSCM) is a national coalition focused on the next evolution of medical treatments - the use one's own cord blood stem cells in regenerative medicine.
This rapidly changing field focuses on the body's own stem cells to cure failing, impaired or injured tissues. While newborn stem cells found in the umbilical cord have already proven effective in treating nearly 80 diseases through more than 14,000 transplants in the last 20 years, cord blood stem cells are quickly becoming a preferred source of stem cells for research to advance regenerative therapies. Human clinical studies involving the use of one's own cord blood stem cells are currently under way to explore treatment for diabetes, brain damage, spinal cord injuries, hearing loss and other regenerative applications.
Crucial to our success is our ability to continually grow the size of our coalition membership. By joining CRSCM, you will:
- Become part of a strong voice for national action: CRSCM's primary concentration will be federal advocacy efforts that raise awareness on cord blood stem cells and make cord blood banking more affordable for all American families. By joining CRSCM you will increase your organization's ability to play a leading and active role in advancing stem cell science in regenerative therapies at the federal level.
- Help increase public awareness: Above all, CRSCM considers cord blood to be an irreplaceable health resource that should never be thrown away. Your voice will help create and promote greater awareness of cord blood's use in regenerative medicine. By joining CRSCM your voice will help CRSCM advocate greater public understanding of the medical value of cord blood stem cells; improve access to cord blood banking through greater affordability, and thereby enable personal responsibility in future healthcare decisions.
- Connect with like-minded organizations: CRSCM's members include a wide and diverse array or interests, sizes and geographic location, but they all share one common goal - advancing the future of healthcare in regenerative medicine.
